Digital Print on Industrial Grade Flag Fabric, 250 x 150 cm
--->

Pan-national Flag is comprised of the linear structure of all internationally
recognized nation-state flags juxtaposed on top of one another. The
drawing, as such, produces an imbroglio of nation-state graphic ideology,
where a complex black ‘whole’ emerges.

Patricia Reed, "PORTRAIT OF A POTENTIAL SUBJECT", 2010
Graphite on paper, each framed 33 x 24 cm

The ongoing series of hand-made drawings are based on citizenship forms
that are yet to be filled in by prospective nationalized subjects. The
bureaucratic language and governmental areas on the drawings have been
stripped away, leaving only the spaces and graphic boundaries within
which a possible subject may inscribe herself.
